The history of pressventures

pressventures was created at the beginning of 2004 as a holding company and umbrella brand emcompassing a number of highly successful free media services which had been operating for much of 2003; and others in the pipeline for a 2004 launch.

pressventures brought together two key brands - the PR Press Network (PRPN) and the Wire News Network (WNN). Its portfolio also includes Triqi Media, a key player in the radio show prep industry; and pymp.com, a movie business service due to launch in 2004.

The PR Press Network was created in May 2003 when media web sites newsnext.com, prposts.com and prfinder.com were brought together under the PR Press Network brand, a move which coincided with the launch of prmailbox.com, a free web-based email service for PR professionals; and prtalk.com, an open discussion group for the public relations industry.

Later that year came SimpleScout, a free location service for filmmakers and photographers; and ReachRadio, which puts broadcast professionals in touch with providers of radio-friendly guests, prizes and content.

October 2003 saw the first issue of AgencyWire, the PR Press Network's newsletter for the public relations industry.
